The American Dental Association whines about being left out of the Healthcare Reform process but they've been fighting and making things difficult for Dental Hygienist, Denturist and Dental Health Aide Therapist, to the point of having Denturist prosecuted for providing affordable denture care to those that can't afford to pay the prices dentist charge for dentures.

Yes there should be a reform in Ohio for dentist who do substandard dental work! This is the kind of reform I am referring to.

Yes, I think dentist should take their mistakes seriously when costing a patient more money to fix the problems some of them cause.

Some dentist need to learn more about teeth and know what they are doing before working on a patient.

I know one thing the dentist I went to left my teeth in hyper occlusion and still to this day says he didn't do anything wrong, denying his mistake.

I had to pay again to have his work re done; 3066.60 after my crowns had to be redone from his substandard dental work.

I have talked to many of people who have had substandard dental work done, but do nothing about it, they just don't go back to the dentist again or pursue any thing.

I am standing up for myself becaue the dentist still thinks I should pay him after his substandard dental work he provided to me, leaving my crowns in hyper occlusion and telling me nothing was wrong when there was.

I am still having problems with the tooth to this day since June 2008. Many people may think teeth are nothing to worry about but why should dentist get away with causing problems and then say they did nothing wrong and still try to collect from a patient who had to have the original dentist's work redone?

Every tooth in your head should be treated like a flawless diamond. I tell my children this and since both are in orthodontia to the tune of thousands of $$$$ (and this is WITH decent dental insurance which includes orthodontic care!) I repeat myself frequently. I argue with MY dentist AND the kids' orthodontists all the time about the rates paid by 'insurance' which mirrow 1966 rates. I tell them it's their own fault since their professional organizations don't do a damn thing about it. Dentists' degree of skill varies as do all types of medical providers. Difference with our teeth is that we can feel immediately if they've done a good job or not. The margin for error is so small (angstroms) and any mistakes they make are felt by the patient at once and remain until the mistake is corrected. Have you considered writing to the State Board of Dentistry in your state? I suspect you'll get some help there.
